Company
We are a data company for education, everywhere
Geak exists because the information students depend on — which institutions exist, what they offer, when applications open — is scattered, stale and hard to trust. We make it canonical, for every country.
Our mission
We collect, verify and structure education data so that any team — an application platform, a ministry, a university network or a research group — can build on a single trusted source instead of rebuilding the same spreadsheets. No team is excluded by geography: a student in Accra, a platform in Berlin and a ministry in Washington all read the same records.
Our registry is built for global reach. Countries and regions are ISO-coded, so a new country is a data onboarding task rather than a rebuild — and we work with institutions and partners wherever they are based to get their campuses, programmes and portals captured accurately.
Our operators maintain the registry daily inside a governed console. Everything they curate is immediately available through the public API, with the same identifiers, filters and status flags.
Geak was founded by Charmaine Dlamini, a software developer from Margate, KwaZulu-Natal. We are headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa, and serve students, institutions and product teams worldwide.

Charmaine is a software developer from Margate, KwaZulu-Natal, studying towards a Diploma in Information Technology at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. She believes technology can transform lives, streamline processes and solve real-world problems — the idea behind Geak.
Before Geak she built web platforms for clients, including a youth development NGO, an online restaurant and a startup simulator game. She works across Java, Python, SQL, React, Next.js and Tailwind CSS.
Her long-term goal is a PhD in Information Technology.
How we work
Standards we hold ourselves to
Accuracy over volume
A record only enters the registry once it is sourced, checked against the institution and dated.
Access with accountability
Every change is attributable to an operator and every API key is scoped and revocable.
Open interfaces
We publish stable, documented endpoints so partners are never locked into a private format.
